Case Study: Detroit in Color Celebrating Black Arts

Bedrock Detroit, a leader in reimagining downtown Detroit’s landscape, collaborated with The Carr Center to present Celebrating Black Artists—a vibrant art showcase spotlighting local talent. The free exhibit, hosted inside Bedrock’s 1001 Woodward building, ran through February 29 and featured:

The Collaboration

Working closely with Bedrock’s team, we built a unified design system that translated effortlessly from print materials to large-scale installations. The Carr Center’s president, Oliver Ragsdale, noted that Bedrock empowered the artists and partners with true creative freedom—an approach that inspired our design process.

The Impact

The exhibit transformed the 1001 Woodward building into a living canvas, celebrating Detroit’s Black artists and inviting the community to experience their work in a new light.
